Guyla Jo Condit, 74, of Coffeyville, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.
She was born November 19, 1936 in Sedan to Loyd and Gladys (Stout) Tharp. Guyla grew up and attended school in Sedan, graduating from Sedan High School in 1954.
In 1954 she married Leon W. Usher at Sedan. Following their marriage they made their home in Sedan until moving to Winfield, KS in 1962. They were divorced in 1966.
In 1969 she married W. Joseph Condit. Following their marriage they moved to Baypoint, CA. They were divorced in 1995.
While living in California, Guyla worked at Alta Bates Medical Center in Berkley, CA, and later at American Presidents Lines in Oakland, CA, until returning to Coffeyville in 1997 to be near her parents. After returning to Coffeyville she worked for BOC Gases until her retirement.
She was a member of the Church of Christ. In her spare time Guyla loved bowling, working in her yard, and going to auctions. She was also an avid Coca-Cola collector.
Survivors include three sons, Chris Usher of Stockton, MO, Scott Usher of Coffeyville, and Todd Condit of Martinez, CA; one daughter, Lyn Buck of Tulsa, OK; one brother, Donald Tharp of Wichita; one sister, Louise Bondie of Wichita; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Gladys Tharp.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Coffeyville Church of Christ, 1005 Siggins St. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
