James T. "J.T." Forth, 91, of rural South Coffeyville, OK passed away Monday morning, July 25, 2011 at this home.
He was born March 20, 1920 in Coffeyville to James Thomas and Ethel (McGovney) Forth. Mr. Forth grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Junior College.
On July 26, 1942 he married Dorothy Helen Newberry at Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in Wichita where Mr. Forth worked at Boeing Aircraft, in 1951 they moved to Michigan where he was Purchasing and Inventory Manager for Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn, MI until he retired in 1979. After his retirement they continued to make their home in Michigan until 1984 when they returned to the Coffeyville area making their home in rural South Coffeyville, OK.
He was a member of the Tyro Christian Church. Mr. Forth enjoyed hunting, and golfing, and loved to spend time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Forth of the home; two sons, David Forth and wife Diana of rural South Coffeyville, and Mark Forth of Sarasota, FL; one daughter, Ann Overfield and husband Randy of Holly, MI; and two grandchildren, Tim Forth and wife Jasey of South Coffeyville, and Dana Bustos and husband Colten of Oologah, OK.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Tyro Christian Church with David Bycroft officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Hope Hospice or Tyro Christian Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
