Sedan - Helen Mae Williams, age 80, of Sedan, Kansas passed away Monday, July 25, 2011 at her home in Sedan, Kansas.
She was born March 17, 1931 in Republic County, Kansas to James and Teresa (Sykora) Klima. She grew up and attended school in Belleville, Kansas where she graduated from Belleville High School.
On January 28, 1950 she married R. Durley Williams in Belleville, Kansas. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Chautauqua County where they have been residents since 1950. She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her kids and grandkids.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Sedan. She loved her kids and grandkids and loved attending every event they were involved in, and she also loved to garden.
She is survived by her husband Durley Williams of the home; one son, Danny and wife Becky Williams of Sedan, Kansas; two daughters, Elaine and husband Danny Thorne of Havana, Kansas, and Jimmie and husband Damon Snyder of Cedar Vale, Kansas; one brother, Glen Klima of Ventura, California; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, August 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Sedan, Kansas with Reverend Paul Stetz officiating.
Cremation has taken place and family and friends can sign the register at the funeral home.
The family has suggested memorials to the Assembly of God Church Building Fund and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be left in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
