Sedan - Eva Grace Duncan, age 65, of Cedar Vale, Kansas passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 at her home in Cedar Vale, Kansas.
She was born February 1, 1946 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Ernest and Ruth (McClaskey) Voigtlander. She grew up and attended school in Arkansas City, Kansas thru the eleventh grade. She worked as a house keeper and aide at Cedar Vale Hospital and Cedar Vale Nursing Home as well as Windsor Place in Coffeyville and also worked for many people in their homes. She also was a cook at several restaurants. She lived in Arkansas City, Sedan, and Cedar Vale where she lived since 1969.
She married Ray Roadenbaugh and they later divorced. She married Cecil Duncan on February 11, 1989 in Arkansas City, Kansas and he survives her.
She was a member of the American Brittany Club. She enjoyed cooking, keeping everybody in line, going to field trials with her husband and she especially loved her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband Cecil Duncan of Cedar Vale, Kansas; one daughter, Janet and husband Steve Arentz of Cedar Vale, Kansas; three step children, Jim Duncan of Cedar Vale, Kansas, Wayne Duncan of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Kimberly Duncan of Galesburg, Kansas; one brother, Eugene Voigtlander of Arkansas City, Kansas; two sisters, Martha Schartz of Arkansas City, Kansas, and Joann Stoddard of Wilmont, Kansas; four grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and eight step great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Edward Eugene Voigtlander, one daughter, Jennifer Kennedy, and one sister, Mary Long.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cedar Vale Cemetery in Cedar Vale, Kansas with Hospice Chaplain Norman Reeves officiating.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan.
The family has suggested memorials to the Relay For Life-Team Misguided and may be left in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
