It has truly been an honor to be part of this wonderful, loving family. I was always told by Madeline and Leo that I was family and I always felt as such. I think they had a lot of extended family that way.
I would like to share the night of Leo's journey to heaven. It was really beautiful if you think about it. Leo had been telling us all day long he was "done and let him go home". I knew he meant his heavenly home. Around 10pm one of his dearest friends came in and we all had a family prayer, holding hands all around him. When we all said "Amen" Leo said "Amen" after us and then he turned his head and looked kind of over his shoulder and looked up and I wondered what he was trying to see. He wasn't looking at anyone in the room or anything I could see but then I say it. There was light glistening in his eyes. Just like a diamond gleeming in the sunlight. Then I knew what it was . I got glimps of heaven in his eyes. A calm peaceful look came over his face and then the monitor on his heart slowed down and he was on his journey with his love Madeline. Of course "Ladies First". He was always a gentleman. How could you be sad. He was patiently waiting for this day. He greatly missed his loving wife of 68 years. Please remember this story and don't be sad but be glad for them. I will miss them both. Thanks you for sharing your family with me. I am here for you if you need me. Betty
