Coffeyville - Shawn Gilfillan, 40, of Coffeyville, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at his home. He was born September 30, 1970, at Coffeyville to Bob Kirby and Bonnie (Romines) Gilfillan. Shawn grew up and attend school in Coffeyville. Shawn married Norma Dannels, they were later divorced. He employed at Acme Foundry, Morrow Foundry and later at Victory Electric until retiring due to his health. He was a member of the American Legion, and V.F.W. Shawn loved playing pool, fishing, and playing Juble. Survivors include his mother, Bonnie Wisely of Coffeyville; two sisters, Tammy Meashintubby of Coffeyville, and Joy Shields of Cherryvale; one brother, Jake Gilfillan of Coffeyville; his significant other and caregiver, Mary Perry of the home; his beloved dog Gizzy; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother Jimmie Gray. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Lewark Church of God, 920 Lewark St., with Albertis Bray officiating. Following Shawn's wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
