Sedan - Stephen W. Miller, age 65, of Sedan, Kansas passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home in Sedan, Kansas. He was born July 13, 1945 in Sedan, Kansas to Wilford and Hazel (Hendricks) Miller. He grew up and attended school in Sedan, Kansas graduating from Sedan High School. After high school he attended Independence Community College. He married Wanda Smith and they later divorced. He worked as a self employed carpenter for thirty years. He liked to restore antique furniture and liked listening to country music. He also was a very avid reader. He is survived by two daughters, Amy Evans and Racheal Kirkland both of Copan, Oklahoma; two sisters, Bertha Miller and Wilda Reynolds, and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Corrine Miller. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Pleasant Valley Manor on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend John Warring officiating. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Pleasant Valley Manor Activity Fund and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N.
