Coffeyville - Juanita Louise Nunnallee departed for heaven with a song in her heart in the early morning hours on Monday, February 10, 2104 as her family had gathered around her just hours before singing her hymns of praise and glory. Born on Monday, December 5, 1927, to Ona Opal Lawson and Virgil C. Stine at her grandparent Lawson's home of rural Edna, Kansas. Juanita was lovingly called "Babe" for the first few weeks of her life before a name could be agreed upon. Juanita attended school at Rose Hill in rural Edna and two years in LaCygne, KS. Following graduation from Labette County Community High School in 1945, Juanita attended Bethany Hospital's School of Nursing in Kansas City, KS. receiving her diploma in nursing in 1948. Upon graduation, Juanita worked two years at the Coffeyville Hospital in Coffeyville, KS. In the summer of 1950, Juanita was introduced to her future husband by her father. On September 16, 1951, Juanita married Calvin Z. Nunnallee at Elm Christian Church, rural Edna. To this union were born three daughters. They ranched and lived in their rural Craig County, OK home for 56 years. Juanita returned to nursing in 1974, working as an R.N. at Coffeyville Memorial Hospital retiring in 1990. On October 20, 1940, Juanita was baptized setting forth her Christian life and her love for the Lord was evident to all who met her. Juanita, along with her husband, Calvin, was a founding member of the Bartlett Christian Church in Bartlett, KS. where she was the pianist for years, taught Sunday School, directed Easter and Christmas programs, and made wonderful coconut cream pies for her church family, but her ultimate goal in her life was to introduce her loved ones to the Lord and she did it in her quiet way of living her life. Juanita was a member of the Clear Creek Grange, and along with Calvin, was name the Granger of the Year in 2006 by the Oklahoma State Grange and was named the Outstanding Farm Family of the Year in Craig County in 1992 and was one of the founders of the Golden Rocket 4-H Club. Preceding Juanita in death are her parents, Opal and Virgil Stine and her husband Calvin. Survivors include her three daughters and son in laws: Susan and Kelvin Morgan of rural South Coffeyville, OK, Mary Beth and Larry Renfroe of rural Welch, OK. and Martha and Mike Armitage of rural Claremore, OK; seven grandchildren: Will Renfroe of Claremore, OK, Dalton Morgan of rural South Coffeyville, OK, Caitlin and Blade Dilldine of rural South Coffeyville, OK, Merrit and Michelle Armitage of rural Pryor, OK, Landon Morgan of rural Welch, OK, Turner Armitage of Stillwater, OK, and Talara Renfroe of Pittsburg, KS; and four great grandchildren, Riley, Maddux and Kaden Renfroe and Afton Jane Dilldine. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the Bartlett Christian Church in Bartlett, KS with Fred Wooldridge officiating. Burial will be in the North Edna Cemetery at Edna, KS. Friends may call on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bartlett Christian Church in Bartlett, KS. Memorials may be made to the Juanita Nunnallee Memorial Scholarship Fund; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
