Obituary of Rick Loffer

Coffeyville - Rickey Lee "Rick" Loffer, 56, of rural Liberty, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2011 at his home. He was born September 25, 1951 at Coffeyville to Leo and Violet (Stephens) Loffer. Rick grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School. On October 08, 1994 he married Carolyn Tickle at Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville where Rick was an auto mechanic owning Rick's Auto Repair on South Walnut Street for many years before retiring due to his health. Rick loved dirt track stock car racing. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Loffer of the home; three sons Rick Loffer II of South Coffeyville, OK, Jimmy Loffer of Independence, KS, and Tyrone Loffer of the home; four daughters, Leota Suttor of Coffeyville, KS, Jennifer Hansen of Parsons, KS, Rhonda Clark of Coffeyville, KS, Vickie Darling of Yates Center, KS; his mother, Violet Loffer of Coffeyville; two brothers, Steve Loffer of Delaware, OK and Stanley Loffer of Coffeyville; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded by his father and one sister Sharon in 1964. A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Cherokee Nation Native American Fellowship Community Building, 215 Oklahoma St., South Coffeyville, OK. The family suggests memorials to the Rick Loffer Memorial Fund established at the Welch State Bank in South Coffeyville, OK; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
