Mike McCain, 70, of Independence, passed away Monday. March 14, 2011, at Regal Estate in Independence.
He was born July 10, 1040 at Gadsdon, Alabama, to Jack and Lena (Nellett) Hester.
Mr. McCain retired from the U.S. Army, serving during and after the Vietnam War.
He moved to Independence from Florida 11 years ago, to be closer to his daughter.
Survivors include one daughter, Gayla Benson and her husband Bruce of Independence; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
A Private Family Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Crystal Brook Church in Independence.
