James W. Hurt, age 78, of Sedan, Kansas passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home in Sedan, Kansas.
He was born January 6, 1933 in Sedan, Kansas to Walter and May (Tout) Hurt. He grew up and attended school in Sedan, Kansas. He married Lula White on November 27, 1955 in Miami, Oklahoma.
He worked as a welder for many years and retired as a Warehouse Supervisor at Kopco in Caney, Kansas.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Prather of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Debra Circle and husband Dan of Sedan, Kansas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lula and his parents.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and Pleasant Valley Manor and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
