WE are deeply saddenend by the passing of Butch, who we became friends with while working at Amazon. Butch made it a point to stop by our RV daily during his working days. He was a good Christian Man who would give you the Shirt of his back. We know the Lord has taken him to a better Place, where there is no pain and no sorrow to live with his Lord.
We lost one of the good guys when Butch left us. We go all the way back to kindergarten at Longfellow School. I have always condisered Butch a close friend. We were not able to spend very much time together over the years. But when we we were able to see each other it was always a joy to visit with my friend Butch. I had began to stop by the park just to chat a little bit and those times will be missed. My heart and prayers go out to you Ruby as well as the rest of the family. May you find the comfort that only God can give.

I want to extend my sympathy to the family. My brothers and I grew up across the alley from Butch. I saw him several years ago when I visited Coffeyville. He was a good guy and I wish the best for the family. May the comfort of the Holy spirit be with you.
RubyI am so sorry. I was looking up my mother's article and saw this one. We do not take the paper, so I did not know. Please know that we send our sympathy to you and your family.
Where does the time go? Remember the days when it was O.K. to let your kids go "Trick-or-Treating" by themselves? I was just a little guy when on one Halloween night my brother Richard Frye and I were separated while out "knocking on doors". Some older boys caught up with me and tried to take away my "goodies." That's the first time I met Butch. He was 6 or 7 years older than me. He came along about that time and stood up for me and a couple other younger boys, saving our hides - and our candy! Funny how some memories come back at a time like this. How the years pass.
Sorry to hear of your loss. God bless.
I visited Coffeyville every year since 1996 to visit my daughter and her family. I alway's stayed at the park. Butch would always be there to welcome me and see if we needed anything.. We had many hours of conversation about lots of things.. It wont be the same without Butch.
