Jewell Annetta Buss, 68, of Dewey, OK, formerly of Coffeyville, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, OK.
She was born November 2, 1942, at Coffeyville to Ahrend and Rosalee (Koehlhoeffer) Buss. Jewell grew up and attended school in Coffeyville and Plano, TX.
Jewell worked as a Nurse's Aide for 28 years before retiring due to her health.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Caney. Jewell enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Pam Jackson and husband Doyle of Ft. Worth, TX; six sons, Robert Sanders of Tulsa, OK, David Sanders of Ft. Worth, TX, Darwin Sanders of Parsons, KS, Michael Harvey of Dewey, OK, Terry Buss of Dewey, OK, and Brian Buss and wife Lisa of Nowata, OK; four sisters, Geraldine Taylor of Coffeyville, Virginia Davis of Pearl River, LA, Luella Mulcahy of Terrell, TX, and Patricia Kuijpher of Denver, CO; one brother, Harold Buss of Slidell, LA; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Donald Buss and Richard L. Buss.
A Memorial Service will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Veterans Patio at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Ken Lott officiating.
Friends may call on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. Cremation will follow with private family inurnment taking place at a later date.
The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
