Obituary of Wanda W. Goode

Sedan - Wanda W. Goode, 88, passed away Friday, February 4, 2011, at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan. She was born on November 3, 1922 in Hewins, Kansas to Levi and Ada (Jones) Butler. She attended schools in Wauneta and later Cedar Vale. She was a lifetime Chautauqua County Resident. On October 23, 1943 she married Emmit Dale Goode in Winfield, Kansas. They made their home on the Goode Ranch west of Sedan for many years. She was a housewife and spent many years also working for True Flavor, Sedan Floral, and Caney Valley Electric. On October 7, 1990 she was preceded in death by her husband. She attended the Wauneta United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Pandora Study Club, Chattey Cathy Quilters, and Walnut Valley Quilters. She is survived by one son, Jimmy and wife Louise Goode of Sedan, Kansas; two grandsons, Dale and wife Amy Goode of Sedan , Kansas and Billy Goode of Sedan, Kansas; two great-grandsons, Wyatt and Levi Goode of Sedan, Kansas; two sisters, Wilva Thompson of Derby, Kansas and Bonnie Gibb of Tucson, Arizona; Two sister-in-laws, Barbara Butler of Tucson, Arizona and Lucille Butler of Sedan, Kansas and many family and friends. The family has suggested the casket to be closed. Family and friends may sign the register book on Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. Church services will be held Monday, February 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Wauneta United Methodist Church in Wauneta with Reverend Jerry Bever officiating. Burial will follow at Round Mound Cemetery in rural Wauneta, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to the Wauneta United Methodist Church and remembrances may be left in care of the David W.
