Coffeyville - Ruth N. Knisley, 77, of Caney, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at her daughter's home in Independence. She was born July 1, 1933 at South Coffeyville, OK to William and Silver (Downing) Knight. Ruth grew up and attended school in the South Coffeyville area, and graduated from Lenapah High School. On May 12, 1962 she married Charles Knisley at Miami, OK. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville until moving to Caney in 1983. Ruth worked as a waitress in Coffeyville for many years and later worked at Lee's Garment Co. in Cherryvale, for the last several years Ruth and Charles have operated Coffeyville Memorials. She was a member of Pentecostal Tabernacle in Bartlesville, OK, and loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Charles Knisley of the home; two sons, Larry Starnes of Topeka, and Kenny Knisley of Tulsa, OK; four daughters, Sharon Stong and husband, Rick of South Coffeyville, OK, Brenda Cain and husband, Buddy, Debbie Mitchell and husband, all of Independence, and Carol Miller of Ozark, AR; one brother, Kenneth Knight of Coffeyville; one sister, Clara Smith of South Coffeyville, OK; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Bill Knight, Jr., and Lee Knight; and two sisters, Anna Mae Pehl and Rosemary Knight. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2011 at the Lewark Church of God in Coffeyville with Pastor Edwina Kidd officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery north of Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home. Friends may also call on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Lewark Church of God, or Pentecostal Tabernacle; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
