Dorothy Holt, 81, of Edna, KS passed away Friday morning, January 28, 2011 at Elm Haven West in Parsons, KS.
She was born on March 4, 1929 to Louis and Lucy (Kastler) Moore in Labette County. She grew up in Labette County and received her education in Edna where she attended Edna High School, she completed her education and graduated from Altamont High School.
Dorothy started working for the Edna Bank as a young woman when the bank was in the old building and was called the First National Bank. She continued to work as a bank cashier until she retired in April of 1991. On November 10, 1972 she married Raymond Holt in Edna.

She was a member the Edna United Methodist Church, and Royal Neighbors of America. Dorothy served on the Edna Library Board and was a library supporter for many years.
Survivors include her step-daughter Cheryl Wells and her husband Tad of The Woodlands, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Colleen Merwarth and one granddaughter, Christina Joy Wells.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Edna United Methodist Church with Rev. Lane Roberts and Rev. Dean Knewtson officiating. Burial will be in the North Edna Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, KS.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Edna Library or Coffeyville Friends of Animals; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337-1207.
