Coffeyville - James Dean Hartzell, 49, of Coffeyville, died Monday, December 27, 2010 at his home. He was born December 6, 1961 at Coffeyville to Carl Ward and Virginia (Miller) Hartzell. James grew up and attended school in Coffeyville, graduating from Field Kindley High School. James worked for Haliburton for several years before becoming disabled. On June 20, 1987 he married Perri Louise VanTassel, they were later divorced. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, and enjoyed collecting knives, and building model cars and airplanes. Survivors include his mother, Virginia of the home; three brothers, Forrest James Hartzell, Jewell Ward Hartzell, and David Hartzell all of Coffeyville; and one sister, Carla Andres of Independence. He was preceded in death by his father. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2010 at Grace Fellowship, 2455 Woodland Ave. in Coffeyville with Rev. Charles Pitts of Central Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the American Lung Association; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
