Obituary of Eva Lea Lawrence

Sedan - Eva Lea Lawrence, age 89, of Dewey, Oklahoma, formerly of Sedan, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Medicalodge in Dewey, Oklahoma. She was born on December 16, 1921 in Kansas, Oklahoma to Jess and Sally (Powell) Niblack. She grew up in the Elgin area where she received her education until the eighth grade. On May 6, 1955 she married Charles Eugene Lawrence in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They made their home in Sedan and raised several foster kids for many years. Charles Eugene Lawrence preceded her in death on November 7, 1998. She lived in Sedan until she moved to Dewey, Oklahoma in 2006. She worked as a waitress and also was a housewife. She enjoyed running around, she loved being around her grandkids, and also loved her dogs. She is survived by two sons; Dave and wife Sherry Long of Mustang, Oklahoma and Bud and wife Annette Long of Winfield, Kansas; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one son Larry Long, and twelve brothers and sisters. Family and Friends may call on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan with Reverend John Warring of the First Christian Church officiating. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N.
