Leona Mae Moore, 86, of rural Wann, OK, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at her home.
She was born June 13, 1924 at Wann, OK, to Charlie and Susie (Huckby) Claypool. Leona grew up and attended school in the Wann area, graduating from Wann High School.
On July 25, 1944 she married Milton Moore at Wann, OK. Following their marriage they made their home in rural Wann. Leona was employed for many years at Medicalodge East in Coffeyville. Mr. Moore preceded her in death on June 27, 2003.
Leona was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, rural Wann, OK. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Moore and wife Karen, Kevin Moore and wife Judy, and Larry Moore and wife Linda all of Wann, OK; two daughters, Bonnie James and husband Mike of Caney, and Jody Longpine and husband Dale of Topeka; two sisters, Betty Martin and Mary Perkins both of Wann, OK; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Susie Claypool; one brother, Jack Claypool; two sisters, Bonnie Lumm, and Edith Anderson; and one granddaughter, Christy Moore.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Rt.1, Wann, OK, with Rev. Robert Glasgow officiating. Burial will be in the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337-1207.
