Ola L. Wilson, age 71, of Wichita, Kansas formerly of Sedan, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
She was born April 27, 1936 in rural Elgin, Kansas to Olin Henry and Selma Blanche (Jack) Wilson. She attended and graduated as Valedictorian from the Pittsburgh High School in Pittsburgh, Kansas. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Teaching from Pittsburg State University.
She was a school teacher in many locations. She never married and lived in a variety of places such as Elgin, Drumright, Kismet, Pittsburg, Wichita, Long Beach, Chautauqua and Sedan. She moved from Sedan, Kansas in 1983. She had been residing in Wichita until her death.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Drumright, Oklahoma and also attended the Catholic Church in Wichita the past few years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Alpha Gamma Delta.
She is survived by two sisters, Oleta Shamasko of Wichita, Kansas and Selola Belle Lewis of Syracuse, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olin and Selma Wilson.
Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2008 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas with Reverend Jerry Bever of the Sedan United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Chautauqua, Kansas.
