Lydia (Heffelman) Kidd Scott, age 92, of Dewey, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
She was born in Delaware County, Oklahoma on August 31, 1918 to Harry and Pearl (Lentz) Heffelman. A lifetime resident to the Oklahoma area, Lydia graduated from Grove High School. After graduation, she attended a secretarial school.
Lydia married Roy R. Kidd and was married for forty-eight years. To this union triplets were born. The smallest of the three, Walter, was the only survivor.
She later met and married George Steve Scott on November 13, 1993 in Grove, Oklahoma. They later moved and made their home in Dewey, Oklahoma.
She was a life-time member of the Grove, Oklahoma Order of Eastern Star and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grove, Oklahoma.
The family would like to give special thanks to Katherine, Jamie and the 6th floor Tower at the Jane Phillips Medical Center for taking such good care of Mrs. Scott.
She is survived by her husband George Steve Scott of the home in Dewey, Oklahoma; step-daughters Debra Grooms and Stephanie McIntire; daughter-in-law Louise Kidd; nieces and nephews Doyle and Janette Boyd, Martha Meredith, Janie, Debra and Darrell Stogsdill, David and Laurie Heffelman, Janey and Tom Gray, Erma Kennison and special friends Roger Sheppard and Bill Steele, as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one brother and one sister.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Olympus Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma with Hospice Chaplain Roger Sheppard officiating.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Jane Phillips Medical Center or Donor's choice and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
