Michael Lee Quintero, 30, of Chanute, formerly of Coffeyville and LaHarpe, died Sunday, September 12, 2010 from injuries received in a automobile accident west of Iola, KS.
He was born May 2, 1980 in Coffeyville to Gene and Peggy (Morrow) Quintero. He attended school in Coffeyville.
Mike was a heavy equipment operator for Harry Byers and Sons Construction Co. in Chanute for several years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping and swimming with his family and friends.
Survivors include three sons, Taylor Lee Quintero, Michael Lewis Quintero, and Alex Gene Quintero all of Chanute, his long time companion Katrina Doolittle of Chanute; his mother, Peggy Quintero of Coffeyville; his father and step-mother, Gene and Sarah Quintero of Coffeyville; one brother, Marcus Quintero of Coffeyville; and four sister; Judy Sprague of Caney, Sandy Davis of Mound Valley, Dana Quintero of Tuttle, OK; Rachel Bratcher of Blanchard, OK.
A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the River of Life Tabernacle west of Coffeyville. Cremation has taken place.
The family suggests memorials to the Michael Quintero Memorial Fund; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
