Alice Darlene Rutter, 69, of Bartlesville, formerly of Edna, Kansas passed away Friday morning (January 11, 2008) at her home.
She was born August 21, 1938 at Copan, Oklahoma to Warren and Fern (Jones) Mitchell. Alice was raised in Edna, Kansas where she graduated from high school. She lived most of her life in southeast Kansas where she raised her two daughters. She moved to Florida for ten years, until recently returning to the Coffeyville area where she cared for her father up until he passed away.
Alice was a seamstress in the area for most of her life. She made fancy dresses for her daughters and was very good at her job. Fishing was a favorite pastime of hers.
Survivors include her two daughters, Debra Wier of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Patricia (Hulan Jr.) Mosley of Cameron, Oklahoma; her brother, Tommy Mitchell of Parsons, Kansas; her sisters, Paula Marteck of Florida and Jo Kinzie of Edna, Kansas; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Alice has been preceded in death by her parents.
The family will hold a memorial service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Robbins Cemetery, west of Coffeyville. Cremation has taken place.
