Coffeyville - Wilma M. Durst, 85, of Coffeyville, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville. She was born October 6, 1924 in Coffeyville to James E. and Ruby (Sage) Sanders. Wilma grew up and attended school in Coffeyville, graduating from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College. On June 8, 1946 she married Eugene "Gene" Durst at Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Shortly after their marriage Wilma began working for Funk Mfg. After their first child was born Wilma stayed at home to raise their family several years after the birth of third child she returned to Funk Mfg. Her husband preceded her in death in 1983. Wilma continued working as Accounting Supervisor until retiring in February 1987. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Business and Professional Women, and Coffeyville Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. Wilma enjoyed reading and word games. Survivors include one son, Kenneth Durst and his wife Kimberly of Caney; two daughters, Joyce Elliott and her husband Michael of Hendersonville, TN, and Jane Warner and her husband Mike of Inola, OK; one sister, Irene Voelzke of Coffeyville; two granddaughters, Kriston Martin of Tahlequah, OK, and Lacey Gerler of Inola, OK; and one great-grandson, Dace Allen Wyckoff of Inola; OK. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Lee Passwater officiating. Burial will be in Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
