Coffeyville - Vincent "Vince" Cummings, 74, of Coffeyville passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville. He was born January 7, 1936 at New Salem, PA to Michael A. and Elizabeth Cummings. Vince grew up and attended school in the New Salem and Uniontown, PA area graduating from Uniontown High School. In March 1953 he joined the U.S. Air Force serving as a aircraft mechanic until receiving his honorable discharge in March 1957. Vince moved to Coffeyville in 1963 and worked as a lineman for City of Coffeyville Electric Department. From 1973 to 1980 he owned and operated the Texaco Service Station on West 4th St. He was a fuel transport driver for Kistler Oil Co and later Crescent Oil Co. until retireing. On March 16, 1986 he married Deanne Ernzen Moore at Las Vegas, NV. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Vince was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post #1022 and American Legion Post #20. Survivors include his wife Deanne of the home; one son, Todd Cumming and wife, Lisa of Coffeyville; daughters, Cynthia Cummings Cranor and husband, Mike of Dewey, OK, Mary Jacobson and husband Doug of Boone, IA, Christine Moore Newell and husband, David of Shawnee, OK, and Terri Jo Moore Gillespie and husband Raymond of Alliance, NE; two sisters, Carol Cummings of Uniontown, PA, and Kathleen Bonaparte of Hammonton, NJ; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother A Graveside Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 in Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville with Father Ben Nguyen of Holy Name Catholic Church officiating. Friends may sign the register book on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. The suggests memorials to Holy Name Catholic Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
