Etha Aleen Freidline, 88, of rural Caney, passed away Thursday (January 10, 2008) at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, OK, from complications of a broken Hip.
She was born May 15, 1919 at Jay, Oklahoma to Walter and Jessie Moser. When she was 3 years old the family moved to Caney where she grew up and attended school graduating from Caney High School.
On April 14, 1940 she married Marvin Freidline at Baxter Springs, KS. Following their marriage they made their home on their farm northeast of Caney, where she lived until moving to Guest House Estates in Caney 2 months ago. Mr. Freidline preceded her in death on September 10, 2006.
Mrs. Freidline was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Caney, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of PYTU. She also belonged to Pleasant Center Pals, Home demonstration unit, Eastern Star, Garden Club and taught sewing in 4-H Clubs.
Survivors include one son, Carl and Sandra Freidline, Caney; one granddaughters, Carla and Joel Keene, and their sons, Jacob and Joshua Keene all of Caney; one grandson, Travis and Erin Freidline and their daughter, Paige Freidline all of Wamego, KS; and one brother Bill Denman of Sagle, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one infant brother and one brother, Bud Denman.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (January 15, 2008) in the First Baptist Church in Caney with Rev. Dan DeWitt officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney.
Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Caney. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Church in Caney.
The family requests memorials to the Can-Kan Dreambuilders, Friends of the Library, these remembrances may be left in care of the Caney City Library or the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
