Marjorie Horn, 86, a former longtime Coffeyville, KS resident died Tuesday morning, July 6, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Society in Winfield, KS.
She was born November 5, 1923 at Coffeyville to Frank and Elizabeth (Burleson-Watts) Davis. Marjorie grew up and attended Cleveland School in Coffeyville, KS.
On May 25, 1946 she married Elmo Oscar Horn at Coffeyville, KS. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Marjorie was a homemaker and worked at the Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons. Her husband preceded her in death on September 1, 1989, following her husbands death she continued making her home in Coffeyville until moving to Winfield in July 2007 after the flood.
Marjorie enjoyed crafting and belonged to a craft club, she loved working in her yard.
Survivors include three daughters, Vettra Horn of Kansas City, KS, Gayle McPherson and husband Larry of Winfield, and Karen Freeman of Winfield; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Oscar Horn, three grandchildren, one brother Matthew Davis, and three sisters, Hattie Tucker, Katherine Davis, and Katy Davis.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 in the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville, KS with Rev. Jeff Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
