Christopher Steven Barrett, 28, of Coffeyville passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO.
He was born May 9, 1982, at Coffeyville to Ronald E. and Barbara (England) Barrett. Chris grew up in the Coffeyville area attending Dearing, McKinley, Roosevelt Middle School, and graduated Field Kindley High School in 2000. After completing high school Chris worked at various businesses in Coffeyville and was currently attending ITT Tech in Tulsa, OK studying Graphic Design.
Chris was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, and the V.F.W. Men's Auxiliary. He enjoyed fishing, football, basketball, horseshoes, playing pool, and was an avid Kansas University Jayhawk Basketball fan, and Dallas Cowboy fan.
Survivors include one daughter, Nichole Marie Barrett of Coffeyville, one son, Nathan Michael Barrett; his parents, Ronald E. and Barbara Barrett of Coffeyville; his paternal grandmother, Glenna Barrett of Coffeyville; his maternal grandmother, Norma England of Jay, OK; and his longtime girlfriend, Carlita Wilson of Coffeyville.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Tom Barrett; and maternal grandfather, Ross England.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 613 South Elm St. in Coffeyville with Father Jerry Adinolfi officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to a fund being established for the benefit of his children; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
