Carolyn R. "Coco" Sutton, age 62, of rural Grenola, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Via Christi St. Francis Hospice Care Center in Wichita, Kansas.
She was born on June 4, 1948 in Boise, Idaho to Bob and Margie (Roby) Zenishek. She attended and graduated from Eureka High School in Eureka, Kansas. After graduating from high school she attended Kansas State University where she obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She worked for the United States Department of Agriculture since 1986 until the time of her accident.
On July 19, 1975 she married Edgar Sutton at the Roby Ranch near Piedmont, Kansas. They lived in the rural Belknap area since the mid 1970's where they owned and operated a cattle ranch.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Sedan, PEO, KVMA, KLA, AVMA, was a past member of the Chautauqua County Fair Board, USD #286 School Board, and helped with the Chautauqua County 4-H Fair. She also loved her grandchildren, spending time with her family, gardening, vacationing, and horseback riding.
She is survived by her husband, Edgar of the home, two daughters, Robyn Sutton of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Casee and husband Jake Moran of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; one son, Jake Sutton and girlfriend Chelsea Holt of rural Piedmont, Kansas; her mother, Margie Zenishek of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Ginny Struble of Topeka, Kansas and Barbara Frank of Wichita, Kansas; two grandchildren, Grayson Warden and Kamden Moran and one on the way, Lakyn Sutton.
She was preceded in death by her father Bob Zenishek.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2010 at the Sedan High School Gymnasium with Pastor John Warring of the First Christian Church of Sedan officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Grenola, Kansas.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
