Darlene J. Collins, 77, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Monday, June 20, 2010 at her residence in Coffeyville.
She was born August 27, 1932 in Liberty, Kansas to Frank and Pauline (Thornbrugh) Swagart. She attended Roosevelt school in Coffeyville, Kansas.
She was a lifetime homemaker and raised her grandson, Jame Collins.
She is survived by seven daughters, Sandra Benning, Leona Fay Thornbrugh, Ruth Ann Collins, Betty Jean Smith, and Sandra Dee Henry all of Coffeyville, Kansas, Sharon K. Felton of Independence, Kansas and Nellie M. Goodwin of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four sons, Jimmy D. Collins of Independence, Kansas, Donald D. Collins and Larry L. Collins, both of Coffeyville, Kansas and Peter B. Collins of Chelsea, Oklahoma and many grandchildren and great-grandhchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Collins on June 12, 2010; one granddaughter, Candy Ruark; one grandson, Tommy Pickney and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville, Kansas with Dr. Wayne Norton of the First Baptist Church officiating .
Friends may sign the register book on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
