Bonnie Jean Despaw, 82, of Coffeyville, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.
She was born May 23, 1931 at Coffeyville to Robert and Maggie (Bradshaw) Miller. Bonnie grew up in the Coffeyville area, and attended Cedar Bluff School.
On January 20, 1984 she married Eugene P. "Gene" Despaw at Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Following their marriage they made their home north of Coffeyville.
Bonnie was a founding member of Central Baptist Church north of Coffeyville. She loved music playing the piano and guitar, and was the longtime pianist at Central Baptist Church, she was also a member of WMU at her church, was a beautiful seamstress, and enjoyed quilting. But most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Despaw of the home; three daughters, Kathy Pitts and husband Charles of Coffeyville, Teresa Goodman and husband Michael of Independence, and Brenda West and husband David of Coffeyville; two step-daughters, Melanie Baker and husband Gary of Longview, TX, and Carrie Atkins and husband Keith of Springfield, MO; one daughter-in-law, Candi Morris of Bloomington, IL; two sisters, Virginia Hartzell and Judy Hartzell both of Coffeyville; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Larry Thomas Morris.
Services celebrating Bonnie's life will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Central Baptist Church north of Coffeyville. Following Bonnie's wishes following the service cremation will take place.
Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
