Jerry Lynn Ellsbury, age 66, of Coffeyville, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, May 13, 2010, at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center from complications of colo-rectal cancer. At Jerry's request, cremation will take place.
Jerry Lynn Ellsbury was born June 10, 1943, at Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Vernon and Ella May (Marohn) Ellsbury. Jerry graduated Fort Dodge High School and accumulated degrees from universities and seminaries in Iowa, Indiana, California, and Oklahoma in Arts and Theology, a graduate degree in Management, and post graduate doctoral degrees in Law and Biblical Studies. He received his Private Investigator's License in 1996.
While in the military stationed in Japan, he received "Shodan Black Belt 1st degree" from the United States Judo Federation in 1967. Jerry retired from the USAF and Federal Civil Service in 2003 after 40+ years with his final deployment to Antartica in 2000 in support of the National Science Foundation. Jerry served 4+ tours in the Vietnam War, receiving numerous decorations, and retired from the Oklahoma Air National Guard 138th fighter wing.
On January 5, 1998 at Miami, Oklahoma Jerry married Robin Dawn Cohea and she survives at the home in Coffeyville, where they have lived since January, 2005.

Ellsbury include his children, Laura Elizabeth-Ann Ellsbury, Coffeyville; Noel Lavern Ellsbury, Tulsa; Jason Patrick (Stephanie) Ellsbury, Tulsa, Gabriel Lee Ellsbury, Tulsa; Lana Lynn Ellsbury, Nashville, TN; and Tamara Mae Ellsbury, Tulsa. Step-children: Clifford Keith and Monica Diane Cohea II, Skiatook, OK; Bradley Scott and Amber Michelle Cohea I; Kathryn (Kaydee) Cohea-Ellsworth and husband Luke of Berryhill, OK. Grandchildren who knew him as Papa: Caleb Patrick, Cadence Grace and Ellsbury,Aiden, Lauren Phoenix, Autumn Rayne, Ginger Michelle, Leila Rose and Bradley Scott 'Spike' Cohea, Lucas Allen 'Lukie' and Jase Emsey Ellsworth. Sister-in-law, Linda Ellsbury, Ft. Dodge, IA; Nephews, Dr. Dan and Lisa (Cody, Zach, Cassie, Hope, and Grace) Ellsbury, Des Moines, IA , Rod and Connee (Daniel, David Charleston, and Vanessa) Ellsbury, Ft. Dodge, IA, Rick and Cindy (Connor, Colin, Emma) Ellsbury , Ft. Dodge, IA and Dhris Chiron of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Laura, and his brothers, Darwin and Terry Ellsbury.
Jerry was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his death as he went to be with his risen Savior, Jesus Christ, joining family and friends before him in the enjoyment of the Eternal Royal Family in the Paradise of Heaven.
