Lena Clare Webb 91, of Coffeyville, passed away Sunday evening, May 2, 2010 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 21, 1919 at Caney, Kansas to John James and Helen Gladys (Wakefield) Roth. She attended and graduated from Caney High School in 1937. She later moved to Lawrence, Kansas for four years before coming to Coffeyville, Kansas in 1941.
On July 6, 1937 she married W. F. Jack in Tulsa, Oklahoma and they made their home in Coffeyville until he preceded her in death on February 17, 1985.
On February 14, 1997 she married James Webb in Coffeyville, Kansas and he preceded her in death on August 23, 1998.
Lena Clare was a member of the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville where she taught Sunday school for forty five years. She was president of the women's group, church pianist, and church hostess since 1965. She was also involved in Beta Sigma Phi for over fifty years. She was also a member of the Matinee Musicale and the Search Light Club.
Survivors include one niece, Sharon and husband Bill Myers of Oregon; six nephews, Bill Janes of Lake Forest, Illinois, Bob Janes of Lacon, Illinois, John Janes of Washington, Illinois, Jim Webb of Olathe, Kansas, Tom Janes of Oakland, Maryland, and Robert B. Lee of Helena, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, W.F. Jack, her second husband, James Webb, her parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville, Kansas with the Reverend Wayne Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the El Cado Cemetery south of Peru, Kansas.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorials to the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
