Ralph I. Melton, formerly of Coffeyville, passed away April 5, 2010 at the Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, Kansas following a sudden illness.
Mr. Melton was born January 14, 1955 in Regensburg, Germany, to Ralph Ivan and Carol Louise (Crupper) Melton. He attended schools in Columbus and Fort Benning, Georgia, and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1973. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, discharged in 1986 after 12 years. He was a longtime supervisor for Schwann's in Salina, and also attended Brown-Mackie College.
Mr. Melton was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, his parents, and two brothers, Steve and Jack.
He is survived by two brothers, Perry Melton of Hannibal, MO and Jim Melton of Elk City, KS. Two sisters, Peggy Zillifro of Coffeyville, KS and Nancy Lawyer of Bartlesville, OK.
Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at a later date under the direction of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home of Coffeyville, KS.
Friends may sign the register on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 and Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association and may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
