Marguerite M. Russell, 89, of Coffeyville passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Marguerite was born July 3, 1920 at Dearing, KS, to Richard Leroy and Catherine Maude (Smalley) Marshall. She grew up and attended school in Dearing.
In 1937, she married James Edward Canatsey. Following their marriage they made their home in the Coffeyville area. Mr. Canatsey preceded her in death in 1961.
In 1962, she married Everett Russell. For many years Everett and Marguerite owned and operated the Russell Motel in Coffeyville. Mr. Russell preceded her in death in 1987.
Marguerite loved spending time with her family, deer hunting near Gunnison, CO, fishing, gardening and being outdoors.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Tosh and husband Clarence of Coffeyville; one grandson, Tim Tosh and wife Trena of Tulsa, OK; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren Tosh, Brooke Tosh, and Jeremy Tosh all of Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two daughters, Marguerite Canatsey in 1950, and Gloria Jean Canatsey in 1954; two grandsons, James Edward Tosh and Clarence Eugene Tosh; her twin sister, Maxine Penner, sisters, LeMary Miller, and Lenora Miller; and two brothers, Arnold Marshall and Bud Marshall.
Cremation has taken place and Private Family Inurnment Service will be in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorials to Relay for Life; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
