Connie Rae Knowlton, 65, of Coffeyville, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 12, 1944 at Oliver Springs, TN, to Lester L. Baker and Waneta Bernice (Scott) Baker. When she was young Connie moved to Coffeyville where she was raised by her mother and step-father, Cleo Ray Moon, she attended local schools.
On August 27, 1962, she married James Owen Hill at Miami, OK. Following their marriage they lived in Coffeyville. They were later divorced.
On July 7, 1977 she married Edward Wayne Knowlton at Hutchinson, KS. Following their marriage they lived in Hutchinson for a short time before returning to Coffeyville. They were later divorced.
Connie was employed as a Certified Nurse's Aide at Windsor Place and Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
She was member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Coffeyville.
Survivors include two daughters, Denise Wooldridge, and Carolyn Ann Hagebusch both of Coffeyville; one son, Stephen Edward Knowlton of Pittsburg, KS; one brother, Ronald Ray Clark of Bethel Springs, TN; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo Ray and Waneta Bernice Moon; her father Lester L. Baker; and one sister, Marcella Goldsmith.
A Memorial Service and celebration of Connie's life will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Father Jerry Adinolfi officiating. Inurnment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
Friends may sign the register book on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorials to St. Paul's Episcopal Church or the American Diabetes Assoc.; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
