Merle E. Pearson, age 78, of Coffeyville, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Windsor Place in Coffeyville
Merle E. Pearson was born March 26, 1931, in Coffeyville, KS, to Robert Nelson Pearson and Gladys Blye (Smithers) Pearson. He attended local schools, was a Korean War Veteran, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Grace Fellowship Church. He was a longtime inspector at Funk Manufacturing in Coffeyville where he retired in 1996.
On April 21, 1951, he married Arline Lenore Swiger in Coffeyville. Mrs. Pearson passed away January 28, 2003.
Mr. Pearson is survived by one daughter, Debbie Wright, of Coffeyville, and one brother, Harold Pearson, of Oceanside, CA, one grandchild Lori Foster, and one great-grandchild Andrea Foster.
Family and Friends may call on Monday, March 8, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Veteran's Memorial Patio in Fairview Cemetery with Reverend Gerald Morris of Grace Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas.
The family has suggested memorials to the Grace Fellowship or the Alzheimer's Association and those memorials can be left in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
