Obituary of Billy J. Holt

Coffeyville - Billy J. Holt, 83, of Coffeyville, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born December 27, 1926 at Coffeyville to Bert and Marjorie (Cavener) Holt. He grew up and attended school in Coffeyville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On April 7, 1950 he married Nettie Unos Paul in Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Mr. Holt was employed by the City of Coffeyville as a Supervisor in the Water Department; he retired in 1987 after 40 years of service. He was a member of Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church, and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1022. Survivors include his wife, Unos of the home; and one son, Jimmy Holt of Coffeyville. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Peggy Holt in 1958; and one brother, Robert Holt. Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Fairview Cemetery Veterans Memorial Patio with Rev. Wayne Martin officiating, with military honors conducted by V.F.W. Post #1022 and American Legion Post #20. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
