Obituary of Joseph Stephen Luke Thomas

Sedan - Joseph Stephen Luke "Little Joe" Thomas, age 48, of Sedan, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 27, 2010 at his residence in Sedan. He was born December 31, 1961 in Marshfield, Missouri to Joseph and Judy (Batson) Thomas. He attended school at Eldon High School in Eldon, Missouri. After moving to Sedan in 1979 he worked many years off and on in the oil field, pumping, drilling and producing oil wells. He earned his GED from Independence High School in 1989. He served in the United States Army. He was a water truck driver for Lamamco and Consolidated for many years. He also worked in nursing for ten years. He married Patrice Caskey on March 17, 1996 in Sedan, Kansas. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Sedan, Kansas. He loved fast cars, motorcycles and flying kites. He is survived by his wife Patrice Thomas of the home in Sedan, Kansas; one son, Timothy Thomas of Sedan, Kansas; two daughters, Kayla and Jackie Thomas of the home in Sedan, Kansas; parents Joe and Judy Thomas of Sedan, Kansas; one sister, Judy Elaine Thomas of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma grandmother, Elsie M. Batson; step-father-in-law and mother-in-law Joe and Christine Brundidge of Lawton, Kansas; father-in-law and step-mother-in-law Curtis and Marilyn Caskey of Neodesha, Kansas; grandmother-in-law Anna Lour of Neodesha, Kansas; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and eleven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, John David Thomas, who passed away August 15, 2008. Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29th and 30th, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Church of Christ in Sedan, Kansas with Evangelist Tom Barton of the Caney Church of Christ officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Joseph Thomas Memorial Fund payable to David W.
