Dear Marilyn and Family,
My family and I send our sincere sympathy to you all at the death and loss of your beloved Jack. He was a friend to many, an example to young and old alike, and a man of many talents, not the least of which was his faith. I have so many fond recollections of his always beaming smile, kindly words, and professional services as well. I rejoice in the beauty of the opportunities to create photographic memories for your family, as well as in the personal attributes we enjoyed. May God supply your every need during this time.
Blessings!

I had the pleasure to work with Jack while he served as a Judge in Montgomery County. Over the years we became friends and I always held the highest respect for Jack. Jack was always friendly with a smile on his face no matter what time of the day or night we met. I will truly miss him, he taught me a lot as I'm sure he did many other police officers. He was missed by many of us the day he left the bench, but now he's in God's loving arms. Until we meet again my friend.

I had the honor of working with Judge Lively for the many years I was with the Coffeyville Police Department. He was a very wise and astute man, both on the bench and when he wasn't wearing the robe. I always thoroughly enjoyed the conversations we had and considered it a great honor and blessing to have known him, learned from him and to have called him a friend. God's Speed Judge. I pray God wraps your family in his comforting arms during this time of grief and fills their hearts with love and their minds with cherished memories.

Having visited Jack in mid-May, it wasn't a great surprise that he has passed.... but it was a great sadness. I met Gentleman Jack in the fall of '52 at Tulsa University's KA House. We subsequently roomed together and I was honored to serve as his Best Man when he and Marilyn were wed. Having spent so much time with him, it was unsurprising to me that he lived a life so service oriented to his Country, family, friends, clients and God.
He had three stars on his epaulets but has many, many more in his heavenly crown.
Our condolences to his family and friends.

I knew Jack - or "Jackie" - as he was often called then - from 1941 thru 1943. We lived in the same neighborhood in Coffeyville. Jack was three grades ahead of me at Lowell school. I remember Jack with much affection and admiration because unlike many of the other "older" boys in the neighborhood who were sometimes heavy-handed and bossy with we younger boys, Jack was always friendly and encouraging to us.
Jack lived an exemplary life as an American and as a "Coffeyville boy". I was always proud to know him.

Dear Marilyn, David and Lori: When mom called today to let me know of Jack's passing I immediately recalled so many great memories of the interactions and banter I used to have with Jack. One of the many things I always appreciated about Jack was his dry wit and wonderful sense of humor. He and I had many exchanges that always made me smile. As serious as he could be he always had this glint in his eye that told me he could be as ornery as anyone. He has lead an exemplary life we should all strive to achieve. He will be missed but generously remembered.

Dear Lori and Family,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your father and husband. Words cannot express how appreciative I am to Major General (Ret) Lively, for his support during my own military career. With each milestone accomplished with a gesture of kindness, he always let me know that he knew. I for at least 15 years proudly wore shoulder boards that he provided representative of each promotion, on my dress uniform. To date I still have the 2-star notes from the 80s that he wrote when I graduated from Command and General Staff College-each framed and displayed. I proudly salute him. Thank you for sharing him with myself, my family, and so many others.

My deepest condolences to Marilyn and Children. Mr. Lively was a wonderful man. My father, Terry, always spoke of him with great esteem and honor for his honesty as a lawyer and judge. I, too, hold Marilyn in highest regards, as she and Jack were always eager to give of themselves their time as volunteers to Harry Hynes Hospice, for whom I was employed. May the Lord Bless and comfort the family at this time.

Dear Marilyn, Lori, and David,
I just read about Jack and wanted to convey my condolences to you. Your family was such a huge influence on me as I grew up. You were why I chose the right paths rather than the wrong ones. I saw through your family that people were good, truly cared about others and didn't just talk about it. Your family gave by action and taught me what a difference that can make in how the less fortunate view what life can and could be like if they work hard enough. You taught me that faith, patience, love, and kindness toward others inspires others to pay it forward. My best memories of childhood was the time I spent at your house with your family. I am a teacher and have been for twenty-nine years. I try to instill in my students that they can be anything they want to be, to respect others and to help build a better world with understanding and kindness by their words and their actions. We have all lost a wonderful influence and good man!
Deepest sympathy

A man who knew me from the day I was born. Jack was truly a man who cared for Coffeyville and those around him.
I had many opportunities to help him, from putting up yard signs when he ran to be elected as a Judge to helping he and Marilyn configure their computers, he always made sure to know you felt important to him and that he valued you.
A finer moral compass I have not met.
