Obituary of Catherine L. Baldwin

Catherine L. Baldwin, 86, of Coffeyville, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She was born June 13, 1928, at Greenbush, KS to Rolland and Ada Mary (Brazil) Peak. Catherine grew up and attended school in the Greenbush and Girard area, graduating from Girard High School. She later graduated from Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburg with a degree in education. On June 29, 1948, she married Harry Earl Baldwin at Greenbush. Following their marriage they lived in Kansas City, Girard, and Salina before moving to Coffeyville in 1959. Her husband preceded her in death on September 3, 1999. Catherine was an active member Holy Name Catholic Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, was a member of Holy Name Altar Society, a March of Dimes volunteer, Red Cross blood donor giving over 50 gallons of blood. But Catherine's greatest joy was time spent with her family. Survivors include three sons, Father Mike Baldwin of Pittsburg, KS, David Baldwin and wife Cindy of Coffeyville, and Dan Baldwin of Dallas, TX; three daughters, Marilyn Hendrix and husband Jim of Coffeyville, Barbara Statuto and husband Dan of Greenville, NC, and Rebecca McMurray and husband Kevin of Tulsa, OK; two brothers, Jim Peak of Girard, and Paul Peak of Anderson, MO; one sister, Mary Senecaut of Girard; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and two sisters. A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 at Holy Name Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Chad Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
