Irving A. Knight, 63, formerly of Coffeyville, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan, Kansas. Irving was born September 12, 1951 to Brythol "Bob" and Mary A. (Bagley) Knight in Oceanside, California. When he was young his family moved to Coffeyville where he grew up and attended West Coffeyville Grade school and graduated from Field Kindley High School. He worked a variety of different jobs including Pepsi, as a handyman at the Townsman Hotel and at Wilburn Pawn Shop. Irving attended the First Southern Baptist Church. His hobbies including being a lifelong reader of politics, coin collecting and he loved visiting with people. Most remember him sitting in the lobby at Walmart and on the bench at Country Mart. He didn't seem to know a stranger. He is preceded in death by his parents. He survived by three brothers, Richard Knight of rural South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Robert Knight of Coffeyville, and Joe Knight of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, three sisters, Jan Knight of Coffeyville, Mary Croshere of Warsaw, Indiana and Jean Beeson, also of Warsaw, Indiana. He also leaves behind his close friends and caregivers, Brent Craven and wife Magada and their son Glenn. Cremation has taken place and a service will be planned at a later time.
