Maurine Treadway built a home on my block in the early 90's. She moved from Coffeyville seeking a peaceful retirement, little did she know, my children were the unofficial town greeters.
Immediate friendships were formed.
Each day after school the Kinzie kids could be found at Maurine's drinking her special chocolate shakes. They loved her and she loved them.
Years later she told me she believed God lead her to Edna, she needed the Kinzie kids & they needed her.
