Obituary of John Robert Loffer

John Robert Loffer, 59, passed away peacefully at his residence in Wichita, Kansas on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, while under the care of Hospice. John aka Johnny Bob was born August 28, 1956 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Bob and Phyllis (Allen) Loffer. John grew up in Coffeyville and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1974. He continued his education by attending the Automotive Institute in Wichita, Kansas. John worked several years at Cook Pump Company as a machinist and supervisor. John attended the Baptist Church. In his spare time John would do what he love the most, which was music. He enjoyed playing the drums. He was in several different band throughout his life, two of which produced records and CD’s. The two bands were Beyond and Verdigris. John is preceded in death by his grandmother, Edna Pate; his father, Bob Loffer; his mother, Phyllis Loffer; and his sister, Susan Loffer. John is survived by two daughters, Teena Marie Sphar of Midway, Georgia, and Haley Alloway of Waco, Texas; two grandchildren, Taylor Marie Sphar and Jonnie Lynn Sphar both of Midway, Georgia; two sisters, Annette Harbaugh, and Amy Sallee both of Coffeyville, Kansas; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many many friends. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, with Pastor Dick Smith officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Directly following the memorial service friends are invited to a celebration of John’s life at the American Legion, 811 West 12th St., Coffeyville, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to help the family with the final expenses; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
