Obituary of James F. Allen

James F. "Jim" Allen, 73, of rural Moline, KS formerly of Coffeyville passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at Grove Nursing Center in Grove, OK. He was born on September 6, 1944 at Coffeyville to Carl H. and Alice A. (Morrey) Allen. Jim grew up in Coffeyville where he attended Holy Name Catholic School and graduated from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War. On December 27, 1969 he married Marsha Clark at Moline, KS. Following their marriage made their home in Caney while Jim worked as a Project Engineer on Petroleum Pipelines throughout the state of Texas. Following his retirement he spent most his time on their farm south of Moline. Jim was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moline. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying, loved spending time on the farm caring for his cattle, but most of all loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Marsha of the home; one daughter, Sharawn Rose and husband, Eddie of Grove, OK; one son, Michael Allen of Caney; one granddaughter, Kayla Conway and husband, Blake; two great-grandsons, Landon Conway and Cayden Conway; three brothers, Tom Allen and wife, Brenda of Bartonville, TX, John Allen and wife, Sharon of Hope Mills, NC, and Harry Allen and wife, Diana of Floresville, TX; and two sisters, Mary "Audie" Woody and husband, Jim of rural South Coffeyville, and Anne Logan and husband, David of rural Coffeyville. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1100 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 with the Rosary being recited at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moline, KS with Father Robert Spencer officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Moline, KS.
