We have alot of memories of the Messner family. Attended church and Sunday School . Messner family were our neighbors growing up (Rigdon ) Otis's families in younger days families were very close. We were very sad to hear this on news. If any of the family wants to get in touch our address is Otis Miller 13 South Brixham Drive Rogers Arkansas 72758. We will keep them in our prayers. Sonya is Mom we just feel so sad for you He grew up to be a fine man. In case you forgot your Mom named you after Sonya Rigdon. What nice families and alot of history though the years. Otis has MG 80 years old and so we were unable to go to funeral. Our hearts go out to all the families. Love you Delores K Rigdon Miller and Otis F Miller

Derek was such a Special Young Man. We knew him from a young age through 4-H & Community Service & he continued that to manhood. Serving the Community as a Fireman for 15 yrs as example. To all his Loving Family, our Deepest & Heartfelt Sympathy! May God Bless each One of you In A Special Way & Hold You in the Palm Of His Hand in the days to come.

So many things have gone through my mind since I heard the tragic news this past weekend. I have many fond memories of the Anderson and Messner boys, not only from having had the opportunity to coach them, but to have them as students in my classes at Caney Valley High School. Andy Taylor shared a picture he took during the last few minutes of our 1989 Sub-State Championship game against Riverton-a game where the Bullpups were 22-0 and trying to go to State for the first time since 1965. That picture was just what Derek was all about-a dedicated teammate and someone who wanted what was best for his team. In the picture Derek appears to be praying, as the clock winds down to the last few seconds in a game that was a heartbreak for so many of us. We are all praying now for Derek and his family. I have a son-in-law who is a firefighter and I know the dedication those individuals have for helping others and I am sure that Derek was the same-looking to help someone else. My condolences to everyone in Derek's family. I wish you all the best in this very trying time. Andy Metsker
