A few years ago on Christmas day Kimanthi's grandmother, her aunt Vickie, her uncle Theodore and I, her aunt Jenette, had dinner with Kimanthi and her father. A week later, I visited to give her a special gift and talked privately with her for some time. She was such a joy to be around with her ever-present smile and intelligent discourse. I wish I could have spent more time with her. Rest in peace Kimanthi. With loving thoughts. Aunt Jenette.

I don't want to say goodbye. I miss you and although we were miles away, up until a week ago that was the only thing keeping us apart. So we can't hang out no more, no movies, no dinners, no long venting sessions on the phone. One of the crew is gone and it's like a shock to my mind, body, and soul. I will remember you always and I will respect the friendship that we have. We will cross paths again my sister, next time, and the time after that. You are a fighter and you have class. I will miss your calmness and sensibility. You left too soon but I understand it was time. Just watch over us!
