Obituary of Kimanthi C. Blandford
Kimanthi C. Blandford, 47, of Coffeyville passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
She was born on May 24, 1971 in Washington, D.C. to Robert and Virginia (Herndon) Blandford. Kimanthi grew up and attended school in Washington, D.C. graduating from Benjamin Banneker High School. After graduating from high school she attended Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL.
For several years Kimanthi was Office Manager for Biogen in Boston, MA and later as a researcher at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. until retiring due to her health. She moved to Coffeyville with her mother in 2012.
She loved Astronomy and reading Stephen Hawking books; she enjoyed Science Fiction, keeping up on current events, traveling and loved dogs.
Survivors include her father, Robert Blandford; her sisters, Kamaria Blandford, Ayoka Blandford and Delethia Parker; one niece Nilaja Moore; one great-niece, Kyrie Rucker; her aunt Margaret Grimmett of Coffeyville; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Blandford on December 2, 2015.
Following Kimanthi's wishes cremation has taken place and no service is planned at this time.
