Obituary of Martha June Gregory
Martha June Gregory, 66, of Nowata, OK formerly of Coffeyville passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 at her home.
She was born on June 17, 1952 at Nowata, OK to Benjamin Franklin and Ruby (Allen) Gregory. Martha grew up and attended school in Coffeyville, graduating from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College.
She married Robert Sam Wren, Sr., they had four children and were later divorced.
Martha lived in the Coffeyville area most of her life, where she raised her children and worked in home health care for many years. For the last several years she worked at the Cherokee Nation Casino in South Coffeyville, OK.
She was a member of the Mid-America Revival Center in Coffeyville, and proud member of the Cherokee Nation. Martha loved attended church events and Cherokee Cultural events, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Marvin Wren and wife Tonya of Independence, MO, Sam Wren, Jr. and wife, Cathryn, and Kelly Wren and wife, Susan; one daughter, Shanya Morgan; three sisters, Thelma Mullins of Coffeyville, Linda Hills of Napa, ID, and Velda Cunningham of Pensacola, FL; two brother, Jack Gregory and Frank Gregory both of Coffeyville; twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Lucille Gregory.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, 300 W. 9th St., Coffeyville, KS with Pastor Odell Thomas of Mid-America Revival Center officiating. Burial will be in the Martin Cemetery rural Childers, OK.
Friends may call on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
