Coffeyville - Rodger G. Henderson, 72, of Coffeyville, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, OK. He was born on April 29, 1942, at Scottsbluff, NE to Lyman Ray and Edith Joybell (Morrison) Henderson. Rodger grew up and attended school in Morrill, NE, graduating from Morrill High School. On July 24, 1964, he married Wilma Kay Kautz at Scottsbluff, NE. Following their marriage they made their home in Scottsbluff until moving to Coffeyville in 1982, where Rodger was employed at Farmland Refinery as a shift supervisor until retiring in 2004. Rodger was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville. He served as a Cub Scout leader, and enjoyed geneology. Survivors include his wife, Kay of the home; two daughters, Lisa Miller and husband Tim of South Coffeyville, OK, and Lynette Randolph and husband Patrick of Wright City, MO; one son, Brent Henderson of Coffeyville; three sisters, Karen Ritz of Morrill, NE, Peggy Harriger of Kimball, NE, and Linda Halley of Torrington, WY; and four grandchildren, Cory Miller, Nicole Brown, Kaelyn Randolph, and Ben Randolph. A memorial service celebrating Rodger's life will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville with Pastor Nicole Schwartz officiating. Following Rodger's wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church Youth Group or Boy Scout Troop #47; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, Ks 67337.
